Driver Extricated After Tree Falls On Pickup Truck In New Canaan

New Cannan firefighters were able to save a pickup truck driver after a tree fell right on his windshield, trapping him in the vehicle.

The incident happened around 3 p.m., March 2 when the driver was on Canoe Hill Road, said New Cannan Fire Chief Jack Hennessey.

The driver was able to be pulled out by firefighters using the jaws of life, the chief said. 

"Luckily, considering how severe the accident was, the driver received non-life threatening injuries," Hennessey said.

Assisting at the incident included the New Canaan Police and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
